Like the name suggests, Safe Browsing aims to protects users from malicious content on the web, including phishing scams and sites that attempt to remotely install malware on your device. Safe Browsing runs in the background and scans visited sites in real-time to protect the user from anything malicious - regardless of where the originating link came from. This means that if you clicked the link in Facebook, a text message, or directly within the browser, you're protected.
