In my opinion, Lookout is hands down the best Android antivirus/antimalware application available, and it keeps getting better. Today, the Lookout Team introduces a new feature exclusive to Lookout Premium called Safe Browsing. Like the name suggests, Safe Browsing aims to protects users from malicious content on the web, including phishing scams and sites that attempt to remotely install malware on your device. Safe Browsing runs in the background and scans visited sites in real-time to protect the user from anything malicious - regardless of where the originating link came from. This means that if you clicked the link in Facebook, a text message, or directly within the browser, you're protected.
For the launch of this update, the Lookout Team is also offering a deal for the first week: upgrade to Lookout Premium and receive $5 off when you use the code SURFSAFES at checkout. Of course, you need the premium version to utilize Safe Browsing, so you might as well save some money in the process. You can grab the free version of Lookout from the Android Market or, if you're a Sprint customer, through the Sprint Zone (thanks to a new partnership between Lookout and Sprint) and perform the upgrade in-app. Alternatively, you can hit the widget below for download.
