The Toshiba AT200 is a new 10.1-inch tablet with 1280×800 resolution. It also has a slim 7.7m frame that is good enough o wrestle away the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1′s claim as slimmest tablet around. The metallic back should also be a leg-up on Sammy’s plastic casing that fails to excite.
A 1.2 GHz dual-core processor powers the AT200, which should do well at handling Android 3.2. Based on other specs shared in the announcement, this takes all of the positives from the Thrive and trims the fat. The AT200 has a wealth of ports, including microUSB, microSD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and microHDMI. There’s also Adaptive Sound Device Enhancer to improve sound quality in the stereo speakers. All of this and more is packed into a frame that weighs only 55 grams.
Toshiba hasn’t announced a price or release date yet, but that’s likely to come in shortly. I’d hope the company would smart enough to get this baby in stores before the holiday shopping season kicks off next month. For now, take a look at this hands-on video courtesy of Engadget.
